Meet Chris

Chris is a cardiac nurse at Essentia Twin Ports in Duluth where he lives with his family. He has been a member of the bargaining unit for 10 years and got involved as a Steward from the very start. He was a member of his negotiating team in 2019, 2022, and 2025 and has been a Delegate to the Northeast Area Labor Council (AFL-CIO) since 2016. He joined MNA’s Board of Directors in 2020 and served as 1st Vice President from 2022 to 2024.

Today Chris serves as MNA’s President and is MNA’s representative on the Minnesota AFL-CIO State Executive Board. He particularly enjoys helping MNA connect with and support our labor siblings in other unions.

Before becoming a nurse Chris obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and Political Science and worked in the non-profit sector community organizing and grant writing, skills he is able to use within the labor movement and Minnesota Nurses Association.

Outside of nursing and union organizing Chris enjoys running, skiing and biking, traveling, beekeeping, and geocaching. And of course watching to see what his son Oskar will do next.
